 Proclamations are a great way to promote Toastmasters in your community! Click on the “Proclamation” link to the left to view the Proclamation for the State of Minnesota. This doesn’t mean you can’t still request a proclamation for your city. You will want to coordinate with the other clubs in your area so officials are not inundated with multiple requests. To request a proclamation, contact the office of the Mayor in your local city. Ask what the process is to obtain a Proclamation proclaiming the month of October or a specific day as Toastmasters International month or day. Other things to ask include:

  • Do they require a formal request for the proclamation?
  • What needs to be included in the request?
  • Is there a standard form or can an e-mail be sent? Who is it sent to?
  • What is the lead time to obtain the document?
  • Do they want a draft of a Proclamation?
