Dr. MayKao Y. Hang

 

Dr. MayKao Y. Hang is the President and CEO of the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation, a century-old nonprofit dedicated to improving lives in Saint Paul and beyond through direct services, research, and community building. She has extensive experience in the public and nonprofit sectors serving low income and disadvantaged populations. Her former roles include distinguished service at Ramsey County Human Services as the Director of Adult Services and the Saint Paul Public Housing Agency as Resident Services Director. She is committed to courageous action to create an equitable society where everyone can prosper.

Dr. Hang has a BA in Psychology from Brown University, an MA in Social Policy and Distributive Justice from the Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs, and a Doctorate in Public Administration from Hamline University. She is a Trustee with the Saint Paul and Minnesota Community Foundations, a Board Member of the Minnesota Historical Society, a founding member of the Coalition of Asian American Leaders (CAAL) in Minnesota, and former Board Chair of the Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank.

Dr. Hang recently received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Hamline University School of Business, and was named Most Admired CEO by the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal in 2017.
