What is FreeToastHost?
Free Toast Host is a free opportunity for any Toastmasters club to have their own website Hosted as a service sponsored by Toastmasters International.
Yes, absolutely Free! All you have to do is ask. Get your website at http://www.toastmastersclubs.org/
In August 2011, FreeToastHost 2.0 replaced FreeToastHost. If your club created a FreeToastHost Website using the old platform (FreeToastHost is in your website name), you will need to get a new website by February 17, 2012, when the old sites are scheduled to be discontinued.
Websites are available to any club that is registered with Toastmasters International at no cost. Besides the fact it is free, some other reasons you would want to do this include:
- You get your very own website (critical to your PR efforts!)
- You will have an administrator’s password to log on and make your own decisions on what should appear as content for your pages
- Your members (once you add them) will have their own logon and password for access to members-exclusive areas of your site
What’s in it for me?
- Unique internet website address where you can promote your club and attract new members by describing your unique club culture
- Google map integration for directions
- Private members-only features include an email distribution list for consistent communication and document repository.
- Create calendar entries for meetings and other events
- Add documents for distribution and viewing through your website, such as templates or newsletters.
- Create meeting agendas
- Club and member social network links.
- Email distribution for guests
- Unlimited custom web page creation
How does my club get their own site?
Visit the main website, http://www.toastmastersclubs.org/ and scroll down to “Get Your Free Toastmasters Club or District Website Today!” to request your free site. Enter your club number, name, and contact information. Once your request is submitted, an email will go to your “old” FreeToastHost administrator (if you are starting a new site, the request goes to the club contact at Toastmasters International). After the site is approved you will receive a welcome letter with login information for your new site.
